Bugler James A. Hill was born 24 January 1895, at Crestwood, Oldham County, Kentucky. He enlisted with Company C, 1st Battalion, 1st Kentucky Infantry Regiment. Hill was killed in action on 26 September 1918. He is buried in the Bardstown City Cemetery, Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky.
