Our Mission.

To honor with “Solemn Pride” the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the Kentucky National Guard who have perished in the line of duty by providing a dignified monument commemorating “the cherished memory of the loved and lost” who “have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.”

The Vision.

To serve as an enduring monument to the lost men and women of the Kentucky National Guard who died while serving our Nation and the Commonwealth. To provide a sacred space for families, friends, and citizens to remember, reflect, and learn about the values of selfless service to a cause greater than themselves. To link the sacrifices of the past with the service of the present, and the challenges of the future.

Organizational Values.

These guiding principles provide the KYNGMF Board, Members, and Friends of the Memorial with purpose and direction.

a. Duty. We shall fulfill our solemn obligation to work tirelessly on behalf of the fallen and their families so their legacy of service and sacrifice shall endure.

b. Selfless-Service. By falling in the line of duty while serving our Country and the Commonwealth, the honored dead have demonstrated the true meaning of selfless service. This shall be the guiding principle of our organization and our team of contributors.

c. Commitment. Located at the entrance of the Headquarters to the Kentucky National Guard, the Kentucky National Guard Memorial complex stands as a promise fulfilled to those whose names it bears, to those currently serving, and to future generations of Soldiers and Airmen who may fall in the line of duty, that their service and sacrifice shall not be forgotten.
